Yeah, I should definitely be posting more, but Ive been so uninspired. Ive actually been having a pretty good year, and I cant think of a point in my life when I was happier.
Im working on learning some new . NET techniques and still trying to improve my Ruby skills as well.
I really need to write more, my skills have undoubtedly declined since I was in college.
Merry Christmas to all, and have a Happy New Year.
I need to do an update on the latest things that I’ve been up to, and the biggest changes in my life so far this year. There aren’t too many crazy things, but here’s a small list.
1. I built a new computer this year, its pretty sicknasty.
2. I moved back home in October; not sure when Im going to be moving out againProbably within the year (with Laura :)
3. My current favorite song isGoddamn Lonely Loveby the Drive-By Truckers.
4. Im going to be painting my room in the next few days; hopefully it will turn out to be pretty clean and grown-up feeling.
This weekend has been a ton of fun. Laura’s birthday was this week, but we decided to celebrate it this weekend. On Friday we went to the melting pot, which was AMAZING! We got the big night out deal with the delicious special Latin American theme. If you’ve never been to the melting pot, I highly suggest that you check it out. It’s a bit pricey but the fondue choices are plentiful, and the experience makes it all worth it.
Continuing with the birthday festivities, we went to a delicious local Mediterranean restaurant for lunch yesterday. It’s called Wild Fig, and it’s really spectacular. The food is so delicious, but the presentation of the food is just unbelievable.
After lunch we headed over to Catalina’s house to wish her a happy birthday. I got to meet her family, which was really fun. Her sister was incredibly fun and sweet, and she surprised everyone with a delicious chocolate cake for Catalina. Also, I got to meet Catalina’s nephew Christian, he was a handful of laughs and was incredibly cute.
And that leads me to today. I continued in my weekend tradition of sleeping as late as I could get away with, and woke up to a piece of bacon floating in front of my face (Laura likes to surprise me in the cutest, silliest ways possible). Today we’re gonna take some photos to document our existence in history, and then we’re headed into the city for a special birthday dinner. I really can’t wait because we’re going to Rosa Mexicana, and if you’ve ever been there you know exactly why I’m so excited. If not, then you’re really missing out on some excellent mexican cuisine.
Welp, that’s my update for the past few days. I’m gonna start adding some more features to the site soon (search, recent posts list, tag list, etc), so keep your eyes peeled.
I’m not a very religious person. In fact, I’m a bit of a self-proclaimed atheist, but that doesn’t prevent me from celebrating the diverse religious holidays that the rest of my family believes in. I definitely enjoy having some time off from work for many of these holidays so that I can spend it with my family. I can slip into the “zone” when it comes to work and personal projects, and then I tend to lose site of family and friends. So, in that regard, holidays tend to be the equalizers; they remind me that I need to pull my head out of my work and spend some time with the people I love.
So Happy Easter if you’re a believer, and if you’re not then “Happy Zombie Jesus Day”, as my cousin’s friend affectionately referred to it.
